SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN: Nick Frost Cast as the Final Dwarf

Earlier this month, we brought you news that Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman, starring Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, and Chris Hemsworth, will be the first of a trilogy of films. Producer Joe Roth explained that this re-imagining of the classic fairytale would be similar to how Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland was done.

Now, the cast is being rounded out with the news from Variety that actor Nick Frost (Paul, Hot Fuzz) has been cast as the final dwarf in Snow White and the Huntsman. Frost joins Ian McShane, Toby Jones, Bob Hoskins, Eddie Marsan, Stephen Graham, and Ray Winstone as the seven dwarves.

‘True Blood’ Star Joe Manganiello Talks Wolves, Nudity

Filming Sunday’s episode was comfortable considering ‘we’re naked with a wild animal,’ actor tells MTV News.

One of the many reasons to love HBO’s racy Southern vampy soap “True Blood” is for the many ways in which the show’s characters find themselves in uncomfortable situations. Naked.

Case in point: the wonderfully entertaining scene from Sunday night’s new episode in which Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) is put in the middle of a confrontation between two naked men, currently confused vampire Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård) and brawny werewolf Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello). MTV News was lucky enough to consult Manganiello for his thoughts on the nuts and bolts (no pun intended) behind the filming of that scene.

“The showdown between Alcide and Eric takes place in the lake. Eric has drunk some fairy blood so he can be in the sunlight. Sookie has to enlist Alcide’s help to go track him down so he has to transform into a wolf and go sniff him out,” he explained. “Basically it’s Alcide and Eric both naked, screaming at each other at the top of their lungs with Sookie in the middle.”

Vampire Diaries Season 3 Preview: Will Jeremy See More Dead People?

Steven McQueen

When Vicki and Anna, both heretofore known as “dead,” appeared to Jeremy in the season finale of The Vampire Diaries, it raised a lot of questions. Can only Jeremy see them? Is it significant that the late former girlfriends were both also vampires? Will he see more dead people? Why have they returned? “They have their own master plan,” executive producer Julie Plec tells TVGuide.com. “The minute you get any supernatural entity dropping into Mystic Falls, somebody is going to be at risk.” Plec, co-executive producer Kevin Williamson, and their team of writers have just returned to the writers’ room in Atlanta, where they’re plugging away on scripts for Season 3, which Plec says will explore the history of the original vampire family. She hints at a flashback to the year 1000, deconstructs the “Delena” kiss and reveals the unique way they’ll set the stage for the show’s return in September.
