Thanks to Wetpaint for the heads up. The Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder needs your help to sign a petition to save Pit Bulls. He tweeted this:
“PLEASE HELP! #OHIO pass HB14 to do away w/ arbitrary breed discrimination AND SAVE DOGS: sign this petitionhttp://bit.ly/otrY8h,” wrote Ian on October 9.
Pitbulls are a misunderstood and often vilified dog breed. But Ohio is the only state in the U.S. to put restrictions on owning the animals. The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder (Damon) tweeted a link to a petition seeking pass an amendment eliminating the reference to “a breed that is commonly known as a ‘pitt bull’ dog” in the definition of what constitutes a vicious dog. (The other definitions are dogs that have bitten or killed humans or killed another dog.)
