Ksite Interview with Daniel Gillies – Are The Originals Doomed?

In an interview with Ksite, The Vampire Diaries star Daniel Gillies talks about tomorrow’s episode, the fan based love for Elijah, and will there be a possible romance between Elena and Elijah, and more.

Gillies describes “All My Children” as being about the unity between the Original siblings, and reveals that “they’re going to have to dispense with their differences in order to overcome their mother.” Their mother’s spell was put into place last week, even though some fans noticed that Elijah didn’t appear to swallow the drink that would bind them all. “In the best of times, I’ll always try and create a question mark,” Gillies says about the ambiguity of the scene. “Even when I was doing that, I was thinking ‘it’s just always nice for them to have the sense of suspicion.’ Look, that’s in the editor’s hands. I did one like that; I did one where I was gulping it down. I kind of just wanted to create something enigmatic.”

Executive Producer Julie Plec said last week that Elijah and the others definitely did drink, but Gillies is still unsure of what will happen next. “They really keep us in the dark. They could go down that road. I don’t know. I know as much about my future as you guys do,” though he did admit that it appears that things are already set in motion. “He’s going to have to stop that,” Daniel says.

Vampire Diaries Bite with Kat Graham – Bonnie will go against Elena

TV Guide Robyn Ross recently spoken to The Vampire Diaries star Kat Graham about tomorrow’s episode. Since there won’t be any new episodes until March 15th, I’m going to post one spoiler here.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead.

Things are going to get heated between Bonnie and Elena. Uh-Oh :( Watch the video below and read the article here.

“Bonnie’s not a vengeful person, there’s always a purpose behind [her actions],” Graham says. “Whether she’s wrong or right by audience standards she firmly stands by it. If she goes against Elena, or even Elena going against Bonnie, it would be because they both have this conviction that what they’re doing is right. That’s important to remember watching the upcoming episodes.”

TV.Com Interview with Vampire Diaries star Zach Roerig

In an interview with TV.com, The Vampire Diaries star Zach Roerig talks about being playing Matt Donovan, does he ever get tired playing the good guy, and would he ever want Matt to be evil.

Considering this show’s mortality rate so far, is any part of you surprised that Matt hasn’t been killed off yet?

Yeah, I mean, that that was definitely a fear for a while. Am I gonna get killed off? But then I just sort of started seeing the importance of my character and being okay with that and humbling myself, because I think Matt is kind of like a big piece of humble pie for Mystic Falls. He just kind of brings a realness, you know, in the viewer’s eyes. Like you’re watching all these crazy things going on that you know in your mind are not real and can’t be possible, then you see a real guy with real problems navigating his way through all of this and doing it with just the purest intentions and best heart.

He’s like a grounding influence.

Yeah, definitely, I feel like Matt’s definitely a grounding influence on the show.

Matt’s kind of a quintessential good guy, an All-American teenager, but as an actor do you ever wish that you could be a little more evil or over the top like your co-stars?

Yeah, I mean definitely it might be fun to explore darker areas, but I’m not terribly envious of the other storylines, like “Oh, I wish I could do that, I wish I could do that,” because I’m content with what I’m doing and I’d be very unhappy to think like that. So I’ve really just kind of humbled myself with who Matt is, why he’s important on the show. And also in the past in my career I’ve played a lot of jerks. And Matt’s the only guy I’ve ever played who has 100 percent through and through been a good guy.

So it’s actually sort of nice getting to play a good guy?

Yeah it has been nice. I think at this point though it would be nice to kind of play Matt being fed up with all the crap that’s happened to him and his friends and everything that’s all kind of generated from all the vampires being in this town.

It seems like this season Matt’s definitely starting to become fed up with what’s going on. Is that how you’ve been approaching the character lately?

Yeah, I’ve been using this analogy: Matt’s a football player. He was the team quarterback and he’s now becoming a part of a different, very unique team. Like, you always see the Salvatore brothers teaming with either Caroline or Bonnie or Alaric— Everyone’s got a purpose. And now Matt’s kind of found himself as a member of that team, and while Matt might be daring and a bit courageous, I don’t think he’s reckless. I think he learned a valuable lesson from his little swimming pool incident. He’s definitely a mortal. And so I think Matt’s just going to have to figure out how to be the best asset on his team.

He hasn’t typically had the same amount of screen time as some of the other characters, but a lot of his scenes this season have been really emotional. Is that something that kind of comes easy for you? Can you just turn it on?

I’ve worked with girls who can literally just look away from you and then turn back around crying, and I was like, “Holy…” How do they do it? I mean it’s not like that for me, but you know, working on a television show in its third season, whether I’m working all the time on screen with these actors or not, we’ve all become very rooted here in Atlanta together and we’re all pretty close at the end of the day. So when you’re that connected with a person in a scene and staying in the moment, I think it just makes it much easier to get to those emotional levels.

TV Line Interview with Daniel Gillies – Elijah’s fate and Elena’s Betrayal

TV Line recently spoken to The Vampire Diaries star Daniel Gillies about tomorrow’s episode 315 “All My Children”, Elijah’s fate on the show, Elena betraying Elijah, and that he will always come back to the tv show.

Mind you, that doesn’t mean Elijah is just going to lie down and give up. “Obviously, he’s not going to be terribly happy about” the spell, previews Gillies. “They’re now bonded in potential death. It’s going to be pretty terrifying.”

So much so that, if there’s one thing the usually moral vampire knows, it’s that now “[Esther] needs to be taken out,” continues the actor. Easier said than done, with a sorceress that powerful! But the Michaelson brothers – Elijah, Klaus, Kol and Finn – and sis Rebekah might be able to get the upper hand on Mom if they join forces. “When a collective of people know they could potentially die, it makes them powerful,” explains Gillies.

“I’m really eager to look at that kind of unity between them, because it’s exciting for me when I watch the Originals working together,” he adds. “They look like a new television show.” (Yes, he’s aware of the fans’ pleas for an Originals spin-off and says he’ll do “whatever they tell me. I’d love to be a part of something new like that.”)

But perhaps the biggest threat to Elijah’s life is Gillies’ new TV project, Saving Hope, which “starts [filming] in a month or so,” says the actor. When we voiced our concern about what the potential new series means for his Diaries alter ego, he assured us that he could do both shows. “When I’m shooting [Saving Hope], it’s in the off season of The Vampire Diaries,” he explains, adding, “And I can always come back. … Wild horses couldn’t drag me away from The Vampire Diaries.”

Anne Rice would love do a cameo on True Blood

In an interview with Metro.us while talking about her new book “The Wolf Gift“, Anne Rice also talks about her love for the HBO television series True Blood and how she would love to do a cameo on the show.

Out of all the TV shows boasting supernatural creates, which is your favorite?

I will tell you the truth: The show that I really like is “Once Upon A Time.” I think that show uses imagination and the fairytale motif in the best way possible. The reason I love it is it’s really rooted in character. It uses the whole background to reveal the human self and that’s what really interests me. I’m not really interested in the typical formula of “Let’s hunt the supernatural monster,” or “We’re the only ones who know the world is invested with supernatural monsters so let’s kill them.” That to me is just cop show stuff. I don’t care about that. I want to know about the heart and soul of that monster. I want to see what the metaphor is. So I would say “Once Upon A Time” is great. I think “True Blood” is very clever and very funny. I think Charlaine Harris is an amazingly clever writer and Alan Ball is brilliant too. To me, I enjoy more than anything the comic aspect.

You should guest-star on it!

Oh, I would love to. All they have to do is call me, and I will go to Sam Merlotte’s and sit there with my notebook and interview a vampire.

Alan Ball make this happen. This would be so cool to have the Queen of Vampires guest star on True Blood.
