KSite recently caught up with “Vampire Diaries” star Cassidy Freeman about her character Sage, what’s coming on tonight’s episode, and future episodes.
We’ll first see Sage in a boxing ring in the year 1912, boxing against men in a traveling circus in what Cassidy calls “a pretty great entrance.” Was it difficult at all for her to play a character with such confidence, while Cassidy the actress was “the new kid on the block” entering an established show? “That’s a really great question! It was not [difficult], for a couple of reasons. One, I actually had met the majority of the cast when they shot the Vampire Diaries pilot in Vancouver. And I had met Julie Plec, and I had met Pascal [Verschooris], and a couple of the writers who are on the show are from Smallville, as you probably know. Al, and Turi, and Caroline… and so, it actually kind of felt like a strange little homecoming, because I had known them. They took the show to Atlanta, so it’s not like we got to hang out all that much, but we definitely got to know each other when we were shooting the pilot. So, getting to be part of the show was a homecoming, of sorts.”
