Zap2it Interview with “Supernatural” EP Sera Gamble – Sara Canning’s role in the series

Zap2it writer Carina recently spoken to “Supernatural” executive producer Sera Gamble about what to expect this season with the television series and about Vampire Diaries star Sara Canning‘s role.

With Lisa behind him, Dean’s a single man again — and we’ll see him have an, er, romantic encounter with “The Vampire Diaries” star Sara Canning in an episode coming up soon. Gamble says that she’s not sure if a less temporary love interest will ever be brought into the show again. “I don’t know. My honest answer is that I don’t know. There’s no lasting love interests for them in Season 7,” she says. “They don’t have time, they’re busy, and they are in no emotional state for any kind of conventional love interest.”

Sara Canning joins “Supernatural”

The Vampire Diaries star Sara Canning who portrayed Aunt Jenna on the television series will be portraying Dean Winchester’s possible girlfriend on also a CW Network television series “Supernatural.” :

Former Vampire Diaries star Sara Canning will guest-star as a character who will have a warm encounter with Dean on an upcoming January episode of Supernatural, TVLine reports.

Executive producer Sera Gamble describes Canning’s Lydia as “wry, independent and as fun-loving as Dean” and confirms that two will have a “memorable evening that takes an unexpected turn.” Of course, when it comes to Supernatural, “unexpected” could mean almost anything, especially this season when the Leviathan have been known to impersonate and, well, eat people.

Supernatural airs Fridays at 9/8c on The CW.

AOL TV Interview with The Vampire Diaries star Matt Davis

AOL TV recently chatted with The Vampire Diaries star Matt Davis about his character Alaric and what to expect this season. He also talks about Alaric’s relationship with Jenna in the series:

“I felt that it was ultimately forced and never really fully developed in a way that I thought I could really bring a lot of life to it,” he admitted recently in an interview with AOL TV.

That’s not to say he didn’t love working with Sara Canning, whose character was killed off at the end of Season 2. “As much as I was heartbroken to lose Sara — as we were all heartbroken to lose her — I creatively was relieved to be free of that relationship, because I just felt like it was difficult for me to really be in touch with it.”
