Damon (about Tyler): “He’s been sired.” Caroline: “So how do I fix him?” Damon: “Get a new boyfriend.”
Damon: “You know Stefan. Journaling. Reading. Shaping his hair.”
Damon: “We have a new housemate — Barbie Klaus.”
Elena: “What are you doing?” Damon: “Helping you out. Come on, Buffy.”
Stefan to Rebekah: “I’m sorry. Your tone implies that I’m actually supposed to care.”
Elena: “You think that I’m crazy to believe that I can protect myself from a vampire who’s flipped the switch on his humanity.” Alaric: “I think you found a way to get out of bed this morning and that makes you the strongest person that I know. I think that you can do pretty much anything.”
Damon: “The two brunettes on the staircases owe me a Persian rug.” Stefan: “You mean they owe us a Persian rug. It’s my house too, Damon.”
Elena to Stefan: “Really. Do you think I’m going to let a blood addict tell me how to drink?”
Elena: “Uh-oh! It’s the fun police. I thought that Ripper Stefan was supposed to be the life of the party.”
Tonight’s episode, ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit,’ sees our high school characters head back to class for the first day of the new school year. “Jeremy’s pretty much trying to balance out everything he has going on in reality as opposed to these ghosts from his past,” McQueen explained. “In Episode 6, you’ll learn the intentions of the ghosts, and I think in Episode 7 you kind of start to see the consequences for their actions.”
When asked about the relationship between Elena and Jeremy:
Though we haven’t seen much interaction between Jeremy and Elena lately, over the next few episodes that sibling bond will be seen. “There’s been so much going on. They’re family, they care about each other, but they’re both dealing with their own stuff right now,” McQueen says. “We have some moments coming up where you see that at the end of the day, they’re there for each other, they’re family.”
“It’s the first day back at school, and I’m back. I think Katherine’s still in that cave,” Steven R. McQueen says. The good news: We’ll finally get some answers as to why he — and now Matt, apparently — can see ghosts and what ghost Vicki is after. “Jeremy’s got ties to reality, Bonnie and his family, and now he’s got ties to people in his past, and they start to clash and wear on each other. It’s kind of ghost world versus reality, and Jeremy’s stuck making choices,” he says. “This episode, you kind of figure out why this connection to the spiritual world is getting stronger. That is all revealed. Things are just gonna get more and more heated in these next couple of episodes.”
